The goal of the Inter-Religious Council
at UNC Charlotte is to develop a cooperative and
non-threatening environment of understanding, mutual
respect, and meaningful interaction between all faith
groups on campus. The IRC holds monthly lunch
discussions on faith-related topics that are open to all
interested individuals on campus. In addition, the
IRC sponsors activities, events, and programs that
promote camaraderie among the IRC membership and which
will benefit the university or the larger community.

"The IRC is the only organization on
campus that encourages and affirms
each student’s right to a personal faith
journey. In state sponsored
academic institutions, students and
employees can sometimes feel that
religious faith and academic pursuits
are incompatible. The IRC champions the
right of each member of the campus
community to embrace their faith."
